We encourage skaters to wear comfy athletic wear and to bring their skates and a bottle of water. Your stick and gloves is optional for your first session but recommended for future sessions.
No, there is no minimum or maximum age to participate. However, we do recommend a minimum of around 50 lbs and 1 year of on-ice experience. Please speak to a staff member before booking if your child is learning to skate or under this weight so they can provide more detailed information to you regarding your specific situation.
Generally speaking, a minimum of 8 sessions is needed to instill muscle memory. However, this doesn't mean some skaters won't see improvements before this or that you will plateau after 8 sessions. Your trainer can offer more customized recommendations based on your needs.
1-2 times per week of treadmill training is ideal when paired with on-ice training. You can always speak directly to your trainer for them to recommend a plan based on your needs.
Yes, if you wish to book a private 30-minute session a staff member can assist you. Please be aware this will take 2 credits.
Please speak to a team member if you are looking to book a session after an injury. If you are recovering from a major injury we will require a note or email from the overseeing specialist in charge of your rehabilitation outlining your capabilities and limitations.
As our trainers all work from the same principles we highly encourage skaters to work with various trainers at our facility. This opens up the opportunity for you to hear some of the same concepts explained in slightly different ways. To check out our trainer's extensive backgrounds please look under the "Our Trainers" located under the "About" tab of the top menu.
No, we recommend skaters use the same blades and/or blade profile you use on the ice. If you have backup blades profiled to match your game blades they can be worn. For any questions please ask a staff member.
No, your blades should have an edge when getting on the treadmill but do not need to be freshly sharpened. The treadmill is equivalent to roughly 1 hour of ice time, when you need your skates sharpened will depend on the hours of other training you've done on them. However, we do offer 50% off our sharpening services after a treadmill session!
If you are interested in a longer session time please speak directly to a team member. This length of training is not appropriate for all individuals, your trainer can help make recommendations and highlight any pros and cons to this. We want all our clients to get the most out of each session book!
Hockey skates or inline skates without a toe pick may be worn on the treadmill.
Yes, we have ringette players who utilize the treadmill to help improve their skating stride. Please note we do not keep rings at our facility. If you wish to work on shooting or maneuvering the rings while skating we kindly ask you to bring your own.
